The 2008 AMA Supercross and AMA Toyota Motocross seasons hold significant promise for the new Rockstar Makita Suzuki Factory Race Team. New sponsors combined with new team members could result in a year like no other for the championship-winning team. Still led by legendary, five-time World Champion and Team Manager Roger DeCoster, the 2008 team is using the momentum from the recent Supercross and Motocross titles won with 15-time AMA Champion Ricky Carmichael to create a strong foundation for this year’s almost all-new line-up of talented riders. For 2008, newly signed Suzuki riders Mike Alessi, Michael Byrne and David Vuillemin will race the brand-new, fuel-injected Suzuki RM-Z450 in the premier Supercross and Motocross classes. In the Lites classes, returning Suzuki rider Ryan Dungey will be joined by former amateur phenom Nico Izzi on the Suzuki RM-Z250. Dungey will race the West Coast races in AMA Supercross, while Izzi will race the East Coast events. |
